Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
I purchased the my Monte about a year and a half ago with 93k miles. It now has 121k miles. I loved the car at first, till I began to see the car going to shit after 100k miles. Changed the LIM gaskets to aluminum. Replaced the coolant elbows twice, now with zzp aluminum elbows. Changed the driver side axles twice, and the passengers once. Replaced the power steering lines after a massive leakage. All in all, it's back to good standing now. BUT, i'm sure the 4t65e will go out any day now. :)..
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
True CAI. ZZP Shift kit. Magnaflow catalytic converter, u-bend delete, added straight piping to the removed resonator and mufflers.
Suspension Modifications:
1.8" drop in front, 1.5" drop in back.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
18" Enkei LS-5 with 235/50/18. My recommendation, do not ever do this with that height of a tire at 50's especially if you're lowered. It's fine now for me, but I needed to add a 1.25" wheel adapter to the hub to push the tires from the strut. One rub to the next, then to the fender. The fenders then needed to be rolled.
Future Modifications:
I've come to the realization, only with a l67 stock or swap is worth modding motor wise. I love modding the exterior and look forward to either adding more black to the two tone black and red, or an all black paint job. If you want this car for a very long time, and you have an l36. Stick to the exterior modding. I'm saving my money for a 4t65e hd first if I decide to keep the car. Otherwise, I'll put it towards another car.
