Early production 1970 Monte Carlo SS 454. Special ordered by original owner. Single family owned for 43 years. Well optioned survivor with only 53K miles. Nice build sheet found under drivers bucket seat. Very rare due to the low production of the SS models in 1970.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
All stock and original LS5 454 & TH400
Suspension Modifications:
Rear coil over shocks were installed at some point. I am assuming the auto self leveling suspension failed and this was their way of fixing it. Currently in the process of going through the factory air suspension system to see if it can be corrected.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Factory Rally Wheels were added as this early bird came with basic steel wheels and those horrible looking wheel covers. As much as we want this car correct, we just could not go back to those wheel covers. Of coarse, we still have the originals.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
All original except the radio. Thankfully no dash alterations were made and we are in the process of installing a correct factory radio. The original AM radio was part of the sale, but they have not found it yet.
Future Modifications:
Leaning towards a posi rear end unit. I find it shameful this was not a standard upgrade on the SS models.
