Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
Used in NASCAR throughout the 2004 race season, and in some 2005 events as well. Last race where it saw service was at the Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, November 6, 2005. Car still retains the decals from that race as well as the O'Reilly Challenge Busch series race held on 11/5/06.

Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
None that have been documented to date. Car was prepared for GM by a firm that is no longer in business, however the chase continues for this ellusive information.

Suspension Modifications:
Lowered (not sure by how much) though the use of G-Force springs front and rear. Urethane bushing also installed in most suspention locations where rubber once existed from the factory.

Wheels/Tires Modifications:
None. Stock SS diamond cut wheels and tires were on the car when in NASCAR service. New tires were installed on the car by GM prior to its sale at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach 2006.

Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Exterior: Dupont Kinetic Blue added to rear of the car over factory original Competition Yellow, broken by red-white-blue hockey stick type decals. Event graphics from its last race, along with Nextel Cup decals and Chevy Bow Tie on toof. Whelan strobe system.

Interior: Simpson two point lap belts added in additon to factory standard restraint systems on both driver and passenger side; stobe light switch added to console between the heated seat switches; standard issue NASCAR mandated hand held fire extinguisher; strobe amplifiers/electronics mounded to low profile steel platform in vehicle's trunk.

Future Modifications:
No mods., I'm just the the caretaker of this piece of racing history until it's passed on to the next car enthusiast. Hood and decklid decals will be replaced as they are faded and showing some cracking. Read more ยป

Whelan strobe amplifier mount in trunk. Apprently at one time the car was wired for a fourth amplifier (seen on the far left), but at some point the fourth system was eliminated. Have seen the same set-up on cars #1 and #2 as well. Still need to gain access to #3 owned by Texas Motor Speedway to see if it too is the same as its sister cars.

Corsa exhaust added when GM had car prepared. All four of these cars have the same system.

Factory "Supercharged" and "SS" badging was removed but originals came with the car. Some badging was also removed from the decklid during vehicle build/prep--not really recognized as a "build job" by longtime car guys and gals.

Pace Lap split field car (the car I own). In NASCAR two pace cars are used on the first two of what is usually three pace laps under normal conditions. The field of 43 competitors is "split" 22 and 21. The pace cars run at pit road speed in order for drivers to note the RPM of their engines to gauge how fast they can enter and exit pit road without receiving a speeding penalty. In recent years NASCAR teams have installed LED lights that surround the tachometers of each race car that will flash either green or red (calibrated to pace car speed and proper engine RPM in whatever gear each driver decides to use entering and exiting for pit service).
