Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
True 1970 SS Chevelle with its original drivetrain. I bought it in 05 from a guy in Canada. The car was built and sold in GA. This is my 4th 1970 Chevelle. My first one was a 396 4spd. #2 was a 70 SS Convt. #3 was a 1970 LS-6 450hp 454. Wish I still had the LS-6.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
The engine is pretty much stock with the exception of a Lunati cam thats a couple notches above stock, roller tipped rockers that fit under the stock valve covers and an aluminum intake painted to look like the original. Can you tell I like the stock look? Lol
I pulled the original trans out and installed a 700r4. This makes it more highway friendly.
Suspension Modifications:
I completely rebuilt the front end of the Chevelle last year. I installed Polygraphite bushings and 1.5in. drop coil springs with KYB gas adjust shocks. I painted the shocks gray to make them appear like original ones. I'm working on the back half of the car now. I pulled the rear end out and replaced the 3:31 gears w/ 3:73's
My rpm's @70mph only increased by 300. I'm replacing the air shocks with KYB gas adjust. I'm hoping this will make the car sit level.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
I currently have 2 sets of wheels for my Chevelle.
I have the stock 14x7 SS wheels with 265x50x14 BFG's
I also have a set of 18x8 Chrome Iroc replica wheels w/ SS centers.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
The interior is basically stock with the exception of the shifter bezel that has over drive. I'm thinking about changing it back to the original one just to make it harder to notice that I have an over drive trans.
Future Modifications:
None at this time, but you never know! Read more ยป
