Description:
Bought this car in 1990 with a 3.8 liter V-6 with a loud knock. I drove it a year before dropping a 400 horse 350 in it. At the same time, I also installed a transmission with lock up from a Corvette, but I blew that transmission twice and settled on a built 350 turbo.
In 1998, the differential seized up. I eventually parked it in an old leaky shed where the roof caved in 4 years later during a heavy snow. A month later, I cleared the stuff off the car and covered the remaining shed with a blue tarp. It too gave way after a couple years so I threw another tarp over the brush surrounding the car. At this point, I could hardly see my car anymore. Finally, after about 12 years, I knew I had to do something. The tarp covering it was gone and the door was opened. I guess I didn't close the door several months before. The inside smelled like a urine barn. I eventually cleared all the brush out and pulled my baby to safety in June of 2010. I removed the seats and pressure washed everything and after a month, I had the car up and on the road again. But almost immediately, the neglect repercussions started with my tires coming apart first. Then the water pump, alternator, radiator, hoses, belts and after a fuel line ruptured, I replaced the fuel line and the vacuum lines. The following summer, I replaced the exhaust.
Through a nasty divorce, I lost all of my receipts and photos with the exception of a few that were transferred to digital from tape. I'll post them when I find them.
