Default Z06 Calipers

I know that the C5 Z06 calipers will fit on the MC because they are the same as the base level C5 and C6, except that they are powder coated red. I am wondering if C6 Z06 calipers will fit on the MC.
I read on a corvette forum that the Z06 calipers bolt right up, and that the caliper bracket is deleted on corvettes. I think I had read somewhere that the corvette caliper bracket bolts up to the MC, but is useless because its too short for our rotors.
Has anyone tried bolting Z06 calipers on, or is anyone (other than me) willing to try this? I think the worst thing would be interference with the rim, after all, its a 6 piston and the C5 is only a 2 piston.

Your best person to talk to would probably be silverbullitt since he has the C5 on his MC.

Isn't your Monte already a dual piston? Mine is, and they are the OEM calipers.

no, the 01 has single piston front and rear. Even on the ss.

Oh, ok...They must have changed that in 06. IDK about the rear, my guess is that those are still single piston, but I could be wrong. But I know the fronts are dual piston on my car.

Have you considered an F-body brake conversion? A few members have done this...

I think you should try it. Get a good pair and if it works it works, if not, re sell them. Z06 calipers have to sell really fast.

If you do try it please let us know! I want a setup like this.... I know for the brake line I think you have to drill and re-tap it to make it fit the MC lines, but other than that Im not sure.

I just figured I'd ask about the z06 calipers, can't hurt. I was actually considering going the same route as silver, and doing the c5 calipers, preferably the red c5 z06's. I might see if this idea will work, my cousins friend owns a large salvage yard around here so I might be able to borrow one of the c6 z06 calipers to test fitment.

Was I correct about the vette brackets mounting up to the mc though? If they don't then this whole idea is down the tube.

According to Mike from Wbody store. The C6 calipers mount different than the C5 vettes upgrade they have to use a special bracket that bolts to a F-body spindle. Wont work on our cars.

So, no. for the short answer. Hahaa!!! just get the C5 and be happy. as for the brake line you do not need to tap nothing. just get the banjo bolt from the fbody or C5. the caliper bracket is what you need to tap if you plan to use stock bolts other wise some people use sleeve cylinder. been using stock line since last february after both my front/rear zzp stainless junk brake lines broked.

16" wheel is the biggest rim will clear the fbody/c5 calipers
