Default yet another Wheel fitment question

Hello ,

I know these questions have been beat to death , so please excuse! I know my monte is 5x115 , and im wondering if 5x114.3 will fit my car ? from what ive read they will fit , but the lugs will not seat properly. Any body ever run them on your monte SAFELY ? Thanks

Wheels are from a 05 tsx ..... To my car 03 MC

Please search the forum. There are tons of threads on the topic of 115x5 vs 114.3x5. This one will be the same as all the others. Most people say they run them with no problems but there are a few stories floating around about people shearing lug studs. Members, lets keep the bickering on this topic to a minimum please.

As for the offset/backspacing differences, maybe someone can chime in on this.

Prob is really the backspacing. We have a +40 offest. That means it 40mm from center of the wheel towards the edge of the car on a 7.5 inch rim. That is going to be the biggest issue. Most wheels dont have such a high offset. If you go with a smaller offset your wheels start to hang out the fender and look like crap. I say run 115 but many say it is ok to go with 114.3. It is only a .7mm diffrence which is tiny. Why GM went metric instead of the 4.5" pattern I don't know.

Last time this came up( a few weeks ago) it got pretty heated.LOL I would say this, they will fit but are not the right size so they could damage the studs. If you search the net you can find info for and against. I say run them for a bit and see if you have any trouble and go from there.

I'm running 20's 114.3 no problem, they came off an AWD Lexus
Im using some hub centric rings with them. Had em for a little over a month now i say run them at your own risk and torque them down properly

thats the tire size lol. what you need is (20x7.5 114.3x5 +40), again if offset is wrong then the 114.3 vs 115 debate doesnt matter.

Did the TSX come with an optional 20" wheel or are they aftermarket? All the info I could find says the TSX came with a 17x7 wheel. Either way I'm looking forward to seeing pics of them mounted on your Monte.

This is what the stock TSX wheel looks like:
