Winter Wheels

Winter Wheels
The tires that came on our 04 ss supercharged Dale Jr edition are brand new summer only tires. I'd like to get a set of wheels to put snow tires on. I was wondering what wheels from other vehicles would fit this. It has 17 inch stock wheels now but I'd like to get a set of steel 16 inch wheels if they would clear the brakes for cost reasons, but anything will do because I'll be darned if I run the nice looking stock wheels in the winter. Our pot holes are huge in winter. Thank you for any help

check out a place called tirerack.com
you can search for the rims that fit, styles, sizes, and even get the rubbers wrapped on them, balanced, with all necessary required things, and shipped to your door.
Or even go on clubgp.com/forums or ebay and get yourself a cheap set of stock tires/rims from grand-prix, impala, monte carlo...

Thank you for the links. I can get just about any tire from work at cost, but I called the bone yards for wheels and they were only able to look it up by what it is and it wouldn't tell them what other wheels from different cars would fit and they didn't have any 04 SS Supercharged around.
So what year Impala, Monte Carlo or GP wheels would fit? Only 04? Or any year? I'd really like to find a cheap 16 inch steel wheel from a local junkyard and wrap them with 225/60R16 which wouldn't be much of a size difference from the 235/55R17 that are on it now. It may set a tire pressure light, but I could live with it.

labnjab... The 17" wheels were an option on the Monte Carlo. Standard on the Dale Jr edition and Tony Stewart edition, but an option on the rest of the Montes.
The standard rim size for the 2000 to 2005 Monte was P225/60R-16
I was reluctantly using my Dale Jr rims in the winter time because I had to the last two years. But this year I'm storing them away and going with some winter rims and tires. I think I'm just going to go with some standard steelie rims, and put a nice looking hub cap from a local auto parts store. That way I'm not worried about ruining the rims or the hub caps this winter. Going to go with 225/60R-16 snow tires, or as close as I can get.

I may have found some wheels. We had an extra set of 16 inch wheels for my 99 Bonneville SLE, and I sold them to my boss for $10 each. He still has 3 and I can buy them back for $10 each. Then I just need to find 1 that matches and make sure they fit. If they don't fit or we can't find a match for cheap money we can get 4 steels for $65 a piece

I just wanted to go 16 for the winter because its cheaper to get 225/60R16 tires then it is to get the 235/55R17 that are on it now. When I got snows on my old bonnie (225/60R16) they were under $80 each
