The only time I have had to replace struts was this summer on my Lumina. The top of one of my rear struts broke and was leaning in the fender well.

I bought lowering springs for the Monte so I am just waiting for the excuse to put adjustable struts on it. I have the springs sitting in the attic just for when the time comes.

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS the pace car edition one and I'm thinking about replacing my front and rear struts with the Moog quick strut assembly's. Has anyone tried these before or have any feedback ?

Wow! Mines a baby with only 204,000! How many motors have you gone through?

I replaced my factory shocks at 126K, replacing with KYB. I ran those shocks to 224K and just recently replaced again.

I shoot for about every 100K on them.

Mamonte, my last car was a 1988 Olds Ciera 2 dr. At 100,000 miles I thought I'd put new shocks on, just because. I really didn't need them. I had bought the car new and it was a factory order (as was my Monte). I had gotten the upgraded suspension package and the shocks showed no signs of needing replacement.

I do take care of my cars but now, at least with shocks, I will wait till there is definitely a sign they are bad.

Ok. I have a 2004 Monte Carlo ls. 3400.
Replace pretty much everything on the front end.
Just replace the front struts.
And I'm still having this bouncing sensation.
