Default Wheel scratched!

Well, some a**hole left a cynder block right on the gutter around a corner and of course when I turned I couldn't see it and it messed up the bottom passenger side of my front bumper on my 06 SS.
Also put a scratch in my wheel. I know I'm gonna have to go to a body shop for getting the bumper fixed, but I was hoping I could get the scratch out of the wheel myself since that's probably $500 for a new one through GM. Anyone know if it's possible to buff out a scratch on an aluminum wheel face with some kind of polish or anything else?

Anyone have any online sites where I can get some original GM parts to see if they carry the wheels? I checked gmpartsdirect.com, but they don't even list the 06 monte. Called the dealership and they say those wheels are $650 a piece.

Sorry to hear about your luck, the bad news is the wheel is scratched and the only way to get the scratch out is with a new one if the scratch is deep.

one thing you could do is say it was from driving in the winter....and the wheel got scratched from salt or something and see if they warranty it...you may get lucky

sorry to hear about you luck though

Sorry to hear that. I am guessing they are plastic coated so you might be out of luck.

On the same note, does anyone know the best way to clean our typeplastic coated rims?

i could be very wrong, but to clean plastic coated rims i use glass cleaner. it gives it a nice sparkel. and then i wax them after. it sounds kinda funny but it works. we do this all the time at work.

I have a full set (4)of the stock18" Aluminum rims, which I took off my 07 SS, when I upgraded to the accessory chrome spoke jobs. I'm asking $800 Canadian for the set. Too bad we are so far away from each other, because the shipping would be a killer.

Tires too, or just the wheels?
