Ok, I've been playin around tonight, and wanna know what you guys think of this. I wanna get new wheels, but don't wanna spend the cash on them right now. So I figured I'd try and improve them... ![Smile](https://montecarloforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The first one is my car stock, the second one is my personal favorite, and let me know what you think of the third. I know they are subtle changes, but I think they improve the overall look by a tad bit.

i like the second best, but in reality i dont think you would be able to black it out as well as with photoshop. i'd say just wait for wheels.
or look for cheaper wheels, found mine on ebay $263 delivered

If you did the 3rd ones, you would have to mill slots in them where the lines are, or the paint will just rub off. Do you have that capability?
I like the 3rd ones best, but the second ones are good, also.
ANYTHING is better than the stock wheels.

Hi `Matt,
I like the stock OEM wheels on your Monte Carlo.
I do like your creative PhotoShop work : )
I think the GM (Chevy) designer's did a super job on
the Monte Carlo Rim.
They are easy to clean, and look super on the Monte.
I do like the `rims/tires that Patrick (Member Kelt) put
on his 03 SS : ).
Thanks for posting/sharing your pic's.
You have a super looking SS.....4-$ure : )

Slotting the rims would be easy, you need to slot them .005 to .010". Hogging the rest of the in the holes and re-balancing would be the trouble unless you have a CNC mill or water jet.

Wayne pretty much said what I was thinking. I like the third pic best, but the stripe would come off unless you mill slots. And if your spending money on that, you might as well save that money for rims you like better.
I'd do the second choice until you save up enough money to get the rims you really want. The black paint wouldn't be that expensive, and the wheels would look better than stock.

thats the best pic i have of them, but theyre 17" factory take offs from a 05 equinox, so theres probly more detailed pics of the wheels floating around, or just find a 05 equinox to look at...
i bought them from 'dustinb14' i think its a shop that puts on aftermarket wheels and sells some of the take offs on ebay. doesnt look like hes selling anything that would fit our cars right now.
i think the reason i was able to buy them as cheap as i did was because few people would know that equinox wheels would fit our cars, or think to look for them.

theres a better pic of an individual wheel
theres a couple sets of 16" equinox wheels, but not much of the larger wheels...
witha quick search best/cheapest thing i found was

set of 4 17" new body style monte carlo wheels, $455 shiped
