Default Welcome to the Tire Rack as our sponsor

As the title says, this section has an official sponsor now. We want to give a BIG welcome to the Tire Rack for supporting not just OUR forum, but for supporting the entire automotive sport industry as they do. I've been to the South Bend facility many times. The autocross facility they let local clubs use is fantastic!
Thank you Tire Rack for supporting the Monte Carlo Forum.

The Experts: Tire Rack

Time Line to Expertise
1979: INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA
Opened a retail store and quickly became Indy's performance specialists.
1982: NATIONWIDE
First small ad ran in the Autoweek classifieds. Our "customer-direct" showroom became our foundation and continues to grow. More than half dozen pages of advertising in popular auto enthusiast magazines serve as our storefront.
1996: INTERNATIONAL
Introduced the industry’s most up-to-date website to the world with www.tirerack.com. For the first time, the consumer can thoroughly research their performance products purchases and confidently buy online using the tools we’ve created.
THE FUTURE
Our goals from the beginning remain the same well into the future: to offer quality performance products, expert advice, fast shipping and exceptional pricing.
Commitment to Expertise
The Tire Rack team, your Performance Tire and Wheel Specialists®, consists of expert enthusiasts trained to provide friendly, accurate fitment and performance advice. In fact, team members spend approximately 80 hours a year in the classroom or behind the steering wheels of our test vehicles at our on-site test track and in "real world" driving sessions. These experiences give them the knowledge to help you choose the correct products for your vehicle, driving style and conditions.
Whether you talk to a member of our sales team directly or use the shopping tools online, you’ll receive the same advice and information derived from extensive experience and training.
Quality and Selection
It’s not only product and performance knowledge that bring value to the consumer. It’s the products themselves — products that must first meet The Tire Rack’s high standards.
Process was very straightforward. Tires were in stock and shipped quickly. -- Paul, MD

As America's leading high performance products distributor, we're focused on providing only quality products from the most reputable manufacturers. A shared vision of excellence is required along with proven, technologically-advanced manufacturing and testing capabilities.
Our relationships with the major tire brands, the most prestigious wheel makers and other performance products companies ensure we’ll always have plenty of exceptionally priced, in-stock options available. We’ll be able to offer you products that are right for your vehicle, your driving style and the conditions in which you drive and won’t be limited to a certain brand or too few in-stock options. Most of our customers are within one to two business days of our Indiana, Nevada, Connecticut, Delaware, Louisiana, or Georgia distribution centers for timely delivery of your purchase, too!
Installation Solutions
If you need assistance finding a garage or service center to install your purchase, our Recommended Installers can help. We’ve applied some of the same criteria we use for selecting quality products to our Installer selection process. Your purchase can even be drop shipped to the installer of your choice.
When you purchase a Tire & Wheel Package, your shipment arrives at your home already mounted and balanced, complete with installation instructions and hardware, allowing you the option to install the package yourself.
The Difference is in the Details
Award-winning customer satisfaction and warranty support complete the package of expertise and service you’ll get with every visit or call to Tire Rack.

currently, i'm pondering buying some steelie wheels with the TPMS sensors installed and blizak winter tires mounted and balanced for $900.00 from tirerack! or i could buy a used set of the same exact for $400 without the TPMS sensors and used? i was going to buy all new and not have any worries with the road hazard package also. tell me what you guys think? the good part would be new with sensors and i will know how they were used by me. and i will, hopefully be able to use them for multiple winters! $900 is alot but i think better for me in the long run, even though that is alot of money, but in the long run, i feel i'm better off with all new!! sorry for rambling on but this is a huge concern of mine heading into a very unknown winter, from what the experts say, it could be a very a long snowy winter ahead, thanks everyone!!

I don't go to WallyWorld to by tires. I have been driving down to Tire Rack and having them put them on. I've said it before. Tires are what stops and controls your car. Not brakes, the engine, nor even shocks and struts (altho they are important). Tires are what contacts the road. In the winter that road is frequently hard packed snow and/or ice. Top notch winter tires make a HUGE difference in the amount of grip you have on the road surface when the roads are not bare.
Look at it this way. You can spend $400 and get 1-2 years of driving, or spend $900 and get 2-4 years driving. Assume the best, and you get 2 and 4 years out of each. That's $200/year for used, and $225/year for new. So you only get 3 from the new, that's $300 /year vs $200 for the used. Worst case, 1 and 2 years. $400/year and $450/year, respectively. NOW, is it worth that $25-100/year for the knowledge that you have great winter tires, AND TPMS in the winter???
So the BIG question to me is do you have the $900 for the tires right now? Otherwise, it's a no brainer to me. If money's the issue, get the used ones, but know that a year or 2 tops and you'll be back here asking the same question.
And, can you do better that $900? $900 for tires AND wheels isn't that bad, for the brand name quality tires, and not the WallyWorld rock hard out of round loose belt rubber bands they sell. I've paid that JUST for tires. Price out a set of Michelin Pilots! (Won't do THAT again, tho. They didn't last.)
my 2 cents. You asked.
