Default Ultimate Summer Tire Showdown

Hey guys have looked over the sites threads on tires and decided to make a good to spot to decide on the very best summer only performance tires, not all season, not low price deals, and not the longest lasting tires but the hands down best summer performance tires BESIDES SLICKS your money can buy and your monte deserves.

I will be purchasing a set of tires for the new season so I'm all ears for all opinions thanks guys.

Poll is just to see everyone's picks for the first heavy hitters but feel free to post more brands new companies new treads share it all.

Here are my first top 5 choices I've considered going with for my car, again guys no slicks I am already looking into a set of drag track rims and slicks I only use at the strip so these are pure street.

Firestone*Firehawk SZ50 EP RFT

Bridgestone*Potenza RE-11

BFGoodrich*g-Force Rival

Goodyear*Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2

Pirelli*P Zero Silver

I don't have any of my own picks right now but the Monte is in need of a new set of tires this year. I was considering going with a high performance summer tire so I'll be watching this thread closely.

I agree. I had the Nitto 555 Extreme Performance tires on my 02 and they were great!

I believe in the B.F. Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2 tires. They are all I have ran since I began taking my car to the extreme limits on handling, on my 3rd set now. Won the autocross event on them, felt like I was going to roll the tires off the rims at times. What a grip, I was actually seeing stars accelerating and pulling hard on a spiral freeway on-ramp, felt like I was going to lose it at any second. How fast was I going, could not even afford to look down, eyes on the road and hands on the wheels. Good stuff those G-Force tires........

Just read up on the B.F. Goodrich Rivals, brand new on the market. Outstanding handling charactristics for dry pavement, seem to be quite the extraordinary tire. Superior on the dry track... They recommend Comp 2's for wet conditions, might have to switch to Rivals for my next set....

My car is running Goodyear, and I like them. I forget what type they are. I am also in need of new tires.

I like the Pirelli P Zero Neros (high performance all-season tire) I currently have on mine. I really like those P Nero Silvers but they're not available in 18.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2 looks good but, again, not available in 18. I have been interested in the F1 GS-D3 but am not sure how I feel about a directional tire. I do really like the F1 Asymmetric 2, as well as the Michelin Pilot Super Sports as options for the Monte, and actually I'm also eyeing the brand new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 being released this summer, an all-season tire. The Cruze has Michelin Pilot all-seasons.

Here's my list of top picks I'm considering for mine (235/50R18).

Pilot Super Sport | Michelin Tires

Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 Tires |Goodyear Tires

Eagle F1 GS-D3 Tires | Goodyear Tires

Pirelli P Zero Rosso | Ultra High Performance Tire | Summer Performance Tires | Pirelli PZero Rosso.
