Default Tire Recommendation?

I am putting 17 inch rims on my 2004 Monte Carlo LS and I was wondering if someone had a preference on a brand of tire that performs/looks great. Any help is appreciated!

I have heard good things about Bridgestone, have a member here who runs them and he could afford what ever tire he wants, he chooses Bridgestone. I use a BFG Sport Comp2 tire, but they wear pretty fast as they are so soft of a compound. But I would rather stick than slip.

I was looking at these Good Year Viva all season tires. I like that brand and people say good things about them. They also fit the budget. I didn't know if they would be good for my car or if there is something better that meets the budget.

So just out of recommendations when sizing up to an 18" rim and a 245/45zr18 tire is there still enough play room?
