Rough ride with eibach and kyb?
I just changed my struts and springs to the eibach and kyb gr2 brand. I also changed the strut mounts front and back with new moroe ones. The ride is super harsh now. I feel I have more control and it corners way better but the ride is terrible over small bumps. I have a plain 2001 LS Monte with 180000 miles on it. This is the first spring/strut change and the old ones rode better than the new stuff. Would the gmpp performance suspension kit help with the ride quality or am I just stuck with it? Or does anyone have any suggestions.
i have an 06' lowered with eibach pro kit. it is much rougher of a ride but that is becasue the suspension tends to be tighter so you feel more. which is why your handling is much better. its a sacrafice that many have taken to get better looks, handleing, and response.
I was thinking about changing out some bushings, sway bar links and adding that gm performance suspension kit anyway. Do you think that will only make it handle better or would it tone down the ride a little. I dont want it any rougher.
By the way nice ride, I like the hood shot. Do you have the8 cylinder in there?

Such is the Nature of "Performance Parts" and "Suspension Tweaking"
You get to "Look good" for Cruisin' the Boulevard and impressing the Ladies. But, you throw Comfort out the window. However, the babes love having it stiff up-front ... eaze-jue nah-wudd-hyde-sane, ohms!
If you have struts and springs, you should definately do your sway bars... get the '04 Comp G front and rear sway bars, and get the trailing arms and lats from a Supercharged SS. Also, get the BMR strut tower braces... definately increases stability and body roll.
As for making it less stiff of a ride, it won't, but it will increase your handling and stability.
I switched to GR2s and Eibach pros, and I am loving it.

I have heard and read that the GR2's from kyb arent meant to handle the lowering kit springs by any brand. they are just a slight upgrade from stock and wont do anything as for the ride quality in a lowered car because of how the car sits on the lowering springs. If you want a better ride, you'll need to get the more expensive AGX adjustable springs that kyb offers. thats the only way to fix the ride quality aspect and still look fly as in the words of rick above. then you can truely say to the ladies "How you doin?" without bobbing all over the place haha.
Hi all, I have a 2004 SS Intimidator, Dale Earnhardt edition and up until recently have never had any major problems - now there seems to be an issue with the trac control and or suspension. I hear a constant whining (not power steering) from the front end and the ride is getting incresingly rougher as the days go by. I took it to the dealership for diagnostic and, being as I am a female, need I say more? Everything from the tranny to the brake pads according to them - I left a cloud of dust when I peeled out of there - anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated!! BADGIRL

I have the Eibach pro kit and AGX struts on my '04 Intimidator, rides great, a little stiffer, handles great and the ride height is perfect (after letting it settle for a couple of months) when you change 'em make sure you change the spring insulators, strut top mounts, bearings, etc. costs more but you won't have to do it twice
