Default Rear end help!

Hi i have a 84 monte carlo SS with a 7.5 10 bolt in it. So far it has 4.11 gears and a locker. But recently I have upgraded the motor to about 400 hp. I have just realized that G bodys are sort of in a bind when it comes to difs. I need recommendations on what I should do. upgrade or swap?

upgrading it isnt worth it. look for an 8.5 or get a 9inch for it.

then your best bet is to try and find a used 8.5 or get a 28 spline carrier for your 7.5 and 28 spline axles to match, but if your going to throw money at the 7.5 for a carrier and axles you might as well just spend a little more and get the 8.5. are you running this car on slicks? what motor tranny and converter is in it?

if your coming out of the hole at 2500 on a street tire it shouldnt hook up and you probably wont grenade the rear anyway. what size tire is it? and what dart heads are you running iron eagles?

26.5 inch diameter tire on 15 inch rim. the heads are the new 64cc dart iron eagle platinum with 200cc intake and a race port on the exhaust side bc darts have notorious exhaust ports.

those are good heads. what cam are you running and compression? what kind of backspacing are you running? is this a street race car? just wanted to see how similar it is to my set up.

the cam is a hydraulic flat tappet right now with about .51 lift. not too serious but its being swapped out soon for a solid flat tappet with more lift. the compression comes in at about 10:1. The backspacing is about 4 inches. the cars purpose is a street/strip car.
