Default Random Low Tire Pressure Light. Reset??

hey guys i was driving just a little bit ago and it was on a bumpy road. few seconds after i got a "Warning Low Tire Pressure" Light. i got out, checked for nails ect. checked tire pressure all about the same. went to a gas station and put some air in all my tires so theyre all 34 PSI.

anybody know why this came on? maybe just false alert?

anybody know the reset? or am i going to have to crack out the manual?

thanks!

Hold the disp button on your factory deck all your setting are on there or you can do the one where you turn the key to ac the pull ur light switch out halfway 2x then on the 3rd x pull it all the way out then start ur car and it will reset !

The TPMS on these cars works with tire revolutions. If the sensor notices one tire is spinning at a different speed, and it's not traction related, it assumes there is lower air pressure in one of the tires.

So the road just might have screwed with those sensors for the time being.

so you dont think its really a problem? it is possible to reset this light through the radio correct?

cause i heard that youd have to get your tires to the correct psi and it turns off?

Nope, just need to reset the light. if your PSI gauge says they are all the same, don't worry about the light right now, just reset it and call it a fluke.

I believe ...just like a ck engine light...after so many cycles of running the car (on off cycles) it will reset its self....

Mine lights up from time to time. It has been happening alot lately with the drastic changes in weather we have been having. It goes from 60º on day down to 5º the next morning. Then bing my Warning Low Tire Pressure lights up on my way to work..

The system that's in the 00-05 isn't all that advanced - if you check your tire pressure regularly then I wouldn't worry about it - just reset the TPM after you check all 4 tires.

Thanks to all who answered.. I too am living in an area where the night temps are in the upper 20s then it rebounds in the day to the 60s. I drove to gas her up today and when I restarted the car, the low tire pressure light came on. I checked the pressure with a guage when I got home and all was fine. I went to look or the manual... well, it's around here someplace. Quickly joined the MCF and found my answer. Thanks again! newbie onestaticone
