Painting Stock Rims

HELLO EVERYONE AND GOOD MORNING,

I was thinking about paint the stock rims on my 07 Monte Carlo LT.
Ws curious if anyone has done it and how hard is it to really do and is it worth it. Please post some pics if you have done it and let me know your opinoin on doing it.

Thanks Guys

Best plan is to look for a local powder coating place. Could usually get it done for about $50/rim

Otherwise, it's all about the prep work and your ability to paint well.

I have checked out a few videos and seen a few pics of them dont. Dup color sell a rim paint and primer that works. You are correct in saying its all in the prep work though. I may try to do it on a spare tire and see how it comes out and then take it from there.

What color do you want to paint them? A member here "painted" his rims with platidip. It looked pretty cool and you can peel it back off if you change your mind without damaging the rims.

X2! Powder coating is probably the best way to go since it'll last longer than painting it your self, specially if you're going to rattle-can it.

i know as soon as i find the plasti-dip in spray can form that's what i'm doin. check out DrJesus616 profile, he plasti-diped his stockers and it made it black without being super glossy. he said it's like 5-8 bucks a can and sticks a lot better than the wheel paint from advanced/auto zone.

--i may powder coat the rim if it ends up looking good, but with the plasti-dip, if it doesn't i'll just peel it off and start back at square 1

i was going to plasti dip my rims, but the guy that's currently doing them said he thought it would be too much black, and since its flat black it looks a little weird if your car isn't already black

i'm gonna tape off the "mag" of the rim to keep it chrome and fill in the outline part of the wheel. idk how it'll look but we'll give her a try. . . . if it looks like crap, i'll peel it off and i'm only out 5 bucks. . . and i'll end up gettin my american racing villain's that i want anyways. . . . but that's 9 hundy that i don't got right now :(

one thing i was worried about, and maybe someone here will know, but if you tape something off, when you remove the paint would you maybe start peeling the plasti-dip off of where you wanted it too?
