I'm deciding between these two wheels. I need new tires so I'm going for the whole package. They will be 18" with 235/50 tires. Also how big of a difference is a 45 tire to a 50. 45 are a little cheaper but I also dont want a big wheel gap.
The first one I like because its a more aggressive look. The bad thing is that it looks like my old rims on my 02 LS.
The second looks good though I thing it will look too empty inside which would look tacky because of the OEM rotors.

#2 and paint your calipers blue
As for tire sizes, check tirerack.com for specs on tires. They will give you tire diameter, width, etc. Tire diameter is whats important to me. Being from MI, I dont want a shorter tire. You being from TX, a little change in diameter won't make much difference. Check out this spec page from Tire Rack:
Goodyear Eagle F1s
It shows the differences. Other brands will be similar, but not exact. This shows a 235-50-18 at 27.3" and 29 lbs, and a 245-45-18 is 27.0" and 29 lbs also. 255-45-18 tires are also 27", but weigh 31 lbs.
LOTS of useful info here.

I like them both, and while mine aren't true dual spokes they are similar and the dual spoke look has definitely grown on me. So I'd got for number 2 as well.
Bit of paint on the calipers and you'd be all set.

i do have the good year eagle f1's. they are great. the best tire i have ever used. they are louder than stock tires but that comes with the territory of lower profile tires. but still quieter than the bridgestone potenza. (i had those b4)

First I'm throwing you some kudos for going with an 18" rim vs. the idiots that jump on the DUB's bandwagon. Especially when they never get the suspension correction kits to fix the camber.
Back to the question, I would get Zyoxx rims, paint the calipers the same color as the body and maybe go for the Goodyear F1's considering you live in TX and don't have to worry about snow.

Well I went ahead and order the Zyoxx wheels with tires mounted and balanced. I got them from the same site i got the red Monte's one. When I told ppl at work that I order they gave me flack cause they weren't 18". I just didn't want to give up performance, tire life, smoothness, suspension life for a bigger rim. They should be here by the end of the week. I also plan on putting on some Flowmaster 44's on it by the end of the month. Maybe also a windshield banner that says Monte Carlo or Chevrolet. I'm still deciding which one. Painting the caliper is also going on next. Just need to figure out where online I can buy a similar color. Maybe wallmart??
