need help: upgrading brakes and rotars with aftermarket wheels
rims are 22's and my car is lowered. i want to make sure when I buy calipers and rotars they will fit, and the calipers will have clearance. the rims are velocity 750's and the car is a 06 SS. please advise. i hate the look of big rims and small rotars and calipers. My plan is to paint the calipers laser blue and powder coat them clear for heat protection.

it all depends on the rotor size. I think the biggest rotor in the front would be 14 inches. When going with a bigger rotor and caliper a bigger wheel wouldnt be the problem. Just as long as you dont do a staggard fitment. Its when you try to go back to factory the wheels wont fit back on the car because they wount clear the caliper. hope this makes sense

so i can put any size brake calipers and rotors? i want 14 in rotors but i cant find any. Really if i cand find me a set of big rotors and stock calipers to paint and powder ill be fine.

As for the 14 in rotors try searching google or ebay. im sure you will find a big brake kit for your car. Like my previous post said only when you try to go back to factory will you have a problem with the new brake set up. good luck

all the sites i see all have D/S rotors in stock size. i want them bigger since my rims are big, and with a big opening you see the tiny rotors. do you have a direct link to some?

they wont be cheap. there are bear kits and project u kits you can look under. not sure if they supply our cars though.

Or you can piece together your own Wilwood Brake kit. I can get you part numbers if you really are serious...However, it is pricey. The kit for a 14 inch front rotor (slotted n drilled) w/ a 6 piston caliper, and 13 inch rear (slotted n drilled) w/ 4 piston calipers will set you back $2,500+, not cheap but I can scrub off speed like nothing...And you can’t beat the looks of a damn huge brake kit….
My rotor hats are now black...

Love those rotors! there are huge! now after I install my DT headers i am going to purchase those. Can I piece it out and use those rotors with stock calipers? and buy the calipers later or no? thanks for the replies guys.
heres my monte with the wheels lowerd w/ SSC springs:

No, the kit comes with everything new: brackets, rotors, rotor hats, calipers, and lines. But after looking at your Monte, you would have to measure the offset clearance to make sure the calipers would mesh and not hit your rims, though they should be fine with 22's.
