Monte got 18s!!
Found these on Craigslist! They are used, but the face of the wheel is flawless. There are some places on the inside where the chrome is starting to corrode, but it's not too bad. Any tips for protecting the chrome? Keep it from corroding anymore?
I'm getting new tires and valve stems put in and then they go on the car

Does the rim need any prep to clear it? Or just tape of the face and lay some clear down?

I might sand it down lightly, but you should definitely tape off the front and then clear.
Here's some things i found on google about preventing and such:
yours dont seem to bad so i'd just touch it up with some clear

So when I put my first set on I used a thin copper washer between the nut and the wheel. I have had them on for some three months now and although they are slightly scratched, the chrome is intact and no sign of peeling.
About the only thing you can do is get a touch up bottle of clear and hit the spots that have peeled to stop it from going farther. Theres no way to stop it completly or be able to tell were it will be next, the problem is something has contaminated the metal and effected the adhesion of the chrome. The rims are going to keep peeling so you might want to start thing of eithe rechroming or powder coating them.
