Monroes vs. KYB Gr-2s
Man it's been awhile since I've been here!
Ok..here's the deal..I'm shopping around for estimates to get my struts and shock replaced. And I already know what brand to get: the KRB GR-2. From what I've read they are the best. But I remember reading another Monte Carlo board that a poster stated that he had problems with the Monroes. Just curious to know has anybody else had issues with Monroes.
Thanks!

Actually, the Koni adjustables would be better than the KRB GR-2's but then again it's way more expensive....
I have the KRB GR-2's on my list of next things to do. The only thing I have heard in regards to the Monroes is that they are worse than stockers...

Nothing wrong with the Monroes as long as u want a soft ride. KYBs r much better for all around performance, put them on a friends Eclipse yesterday, in fact. They handle well without being harsh, even when lowered. Bilsteins r prob the best non-adjustables but r quite a bit more money. KYBs would be a good choice.

So where can I find the Konis?

I have the KYB's. I put them on at the same time I put on Eibach springs , so I couldn't tell you how much difference just the KYB's made. With 44,000 miles I haven't had a problem. I am thinking of going with the adjustables when I replace these.

personal experience i would go with monroe, i sell both @ my store up here and i seem to have more luck with the monroe than the kyb ones
i put reflex's on my truck, but i dont think they make reflex struts, so you'd have to go with the sensa trac's and they have a lifetime warranty

First off the koni's are sweet as hell, my brother has them on his GTP great because they are the only adjustable struts for our cars. konis are gonna be a bit pricey buy you can find them online. Look around might find someone selling them used, second hand isnt always a bad thing.
