Default Lowering springs

I have used the search button and have not found anything that will help me. I'm looking to lower my 98 ls. Try to give it a good look and I don't like in a very bumpy area. Now here's my question. I have found 00-05(?) monte lowering springs. Will these fit?? And second will I only need springs. Thank you guys so much!

Here is a link:

actually one of our members here lowered their monte, here is the thread (for reference its the next gen up):

Have you changed the shocks? Is your suspension nice and sound? Lowering is alot more involved than just coils... To do it correct its going to cost somewere near $1k Do it the cheap way you can easily ruin the car.

I'm waiting for my taxes to get the linked coils above, a set of 4 KYB adjustable shock/struts, new tower mounts all around & some new rear swaybar links. I've already changed most of the front suspension components. So far parts I have not gotten/changed yet will cost around $930.

He has a 98, they made a lot less aftermarket for the suspension in those cars.

from the looks of the comparison of coils, I wouldn't think so. both of them are noticeably different.

Those will not fit. For one, I'd be worried of weight differences between the 5th Gen and 6th Gen, which could potentially break springs and/or damage something else. I've never looked for 5th Gen parts so I'm not sure what's all out there for lowering springs for them. Depending on how many miles are on your current struts, yes you would also need new struts and mounts.

The car drives like a dream at 85k. I inherited it. I would sell it and buy a 6th gen but I love the car and the man that gave it to me. He was a good person and good to everybody and I'd like to keep the car as long as I can. Probably until I get in an ccident god forbid. Even if that means replacing the drive train, which would be a 3800 . An I'm more than capable of doing it, just time is against me

If those are the original strut assemblies on the car then at 85k those are about ready to be replaced. So, if you were to go with lowering springs I'd recommend replacing the struts and strut mounts as well. That's if you're going to keep the car, which it sounds like you want to. That's low miles for a 5th Gen.
