Default Lowering

I would like to lower my car but what parts would I need? Just springs? I believe my rims are 17", how low can/should I go?

What struts do you have?

Personally I would do the SSC Springs paired with some anti-pogo washers and a new set of KYB GR2 struts.

Stock...but I don't know if the "Intimidator" package included performance parts for the suspension.

Thanks for the link, $220 for the springs and washers doesn't seem bad but another $250 for struts? ouch. I would probably just get the springs.

Those washers, from the description, sound like it would make the ride "harsher." Am I reading it wrong or what? When I lowered my last car with Eibach Pro-Kit springs and KYB AGX shocks/struts it got pretty harsh after a while and that was without these anti-pogo type washers. I'm just curious.

I would be weary about running stock struts and lowering springs.

What's your mileage? Eventually you'll have to do the struts anyway, you might as well do the labor once.

That's the joys of lowering, it becomes a rougher ride but handles better. Supposedly though the SSC Springs shouldn't be as rough as the Eibach.

I'm at about 58k miles... Maybe I'll hold off until they "need" to be done.

That's what I was thinking would be a good plan of action too. I only have 22,222 miles on my car (just hit that achievement yesterday night) and it definitely doesn't need any suspension parts. However, once it does that might be a perfect time to just go ahead and get everything to lower the car and increase the driving performance at the same time.

It's good to know that SSC is a better spring, as far as ride comfort, over Eibach. Do we have any other options besides the two?

Edit: I was able to find CM (Canuck Motorsports) and SpringTech lowering springs on ebay for $213 and $208 shipped respectively.

2 weeks ago I was looking at 162,261 miles... that gave me a chuckle.

Instead of "holding off until you need them" why not just slowly save up for it all, and then buy them
