I have found these black wheels that have a red/blue strip around the edge. It is a project car and does not look too pretty now but I will be painting it either all black or two tone (divided by a red pinstripe) with silver on the bottom half of the car like the picture below...but I will not at all be putting any ridiculous size wheels; just ignore that part of the picture. I am thinking 15" wheels and 215/65-15 tires.

What do you all think about how it would look on my 1979 Monte Carlo?

Those black racing wheels rock! I had one just like them (15") on my '92 Roadmaster Wagon. I had the Nascar tires on that car too. These wheels are perfect for a 4th gen...

I think that the NASCAR tires with the yellow Goodyear lettering sounds like a great idea. That did not even come into mind until you said that. Thanks!

I'm not sure they are available in the size you need. The lettering on the Roadmaster's was white, and the one one my BudChev are actually white too. You could use tire paint, but I wouldn't because white letter are more appropriate for your Monte's era. Any RWL Goodyear tires would look great - good luck with what you find!
