KYB GR2 Question
I've seen thatt the KYB GR2 are one of the most common aftermarket strut replacements for the 6th generation (2000-2005) Monte Carlo. They retail for around $250 at most places and claim to give you a 10%-15% increase in handling and ride comfort over stock suspension. But it doesn't specify if it's for the SS or LS. I want to make sure this is a 10% increase over what the SS suspension was when it was brand new. Does anyone know if it is? And would there be THAT noticeable of a difference on my car with 63,000 miles?
I would love to have some of those. However my car with the 187K on it, i'm leaning more towards just some junk monroe shocks, I'm not about to toss a lot of money into shocks and suspension crap into my car then have the engine die, yknow?
I would ask around at a shop that specifies in suspension. If blacksheep mike recommends something to me I am taking his word on it, he's a pretty knowledgeable guy. However the KYB AGX are the newer model.. but I don't want to pay almost 500 for my rear assemblies but at the same time I think I'm going to need it very soon.
So KYB AGX struts are the best struts for handling and ride comfort that money can buy? Then KYB G2 strust are a slight improvement over OEM equipment. Then there's standard OEM equipment, but at least it'd be new.
That's what I hear. I'd double check on that. You can ask KYB themselves I think they have a website. That might help you out. Now you're making me want to go shopping for car parts. I'm so not the typical female. I'd be more apt to buy a cold air intake then I would be a purse.
LOL! I didn't even know you were a woman. And yeah, I found KYB's website, they're actually $2 cheaper on there than they are on zzp. Like, WOW! I think I'll go with KYB G2's when I get the money, the AGX are recommended if you've lowered your car, or if you just have too much damn money to blow.
Well Quatermain, if you saw my signature, it IS in hot pink, and there IS a female name.... LOL
yes the AGX's are if you've got tons of money to blow, and that was what goodyear wanted to use when they quoted me to do my rears. I think I'll order my G2's and have a local shop install them, I want the full shock and strut mount and then i'm going to get a strut bar as well.
