i need to go with a lower series tires on my 19's, and i got a 1/2 inch narrower rim, so would this be an adequate size, not a 245/40/19?

you're 8.5" close to 9". the 245 will work but i would ask the shop if they would let you try the both the 255 and 245 on for try out. 255 is kinda an odd size...i'm not even sure if they even have that size in 19. i guess go with the size they recommend.

255/40/19 exist . the chevy ssr uses it on the front tires.

those look really nice! i was thinking 19's on my car. i cant do 20's or higher and 17 is just to small. those look great.

thanks guys, i was quoted no more than $500 to refinish the rims, mount tires and balance, the rims will be getting refinished just like a set of LS rims. i'm going to try and make the large center caps fit the rims aswell, not sure how i would remove them though...

what kind of tires brand you getting. reason i ask cuz since you have the deep lip. you want tires like falken or other that have lip on the edge this way if you back into a curb the tire will likely to hit the curb first than rim (curb rash)
