Default Got some parts for a big brake upgrade :)

As part of future plans, I figured that the current front brake setup just isn't going to be what I'm looking for. I've been trying to wait to start buying parts until I get a house/garage- but I can't pass up good deals when I come across them either. I still need to get some new SS lines, and I'm considering switching pads before these go on (they've got OEM pads in there now)- but these calipers share pads with the EVO, STi, and Ford GT- so there are plenty of options from mild to full race. Its still up in the air about which route I'll go for the rears.

Some pics (everything is brand new, the calipers just have that protective film across the front to keep them from getting scratched during install):

One of my favorite parts- pad changes without removing the caliper

I'm thinking that will be much better

Holy crap! What do you need 14" rotors for? You are stopping a monte carlo not a schoolbus, lol. Those are cool as hell nonetheless.

Heavy car + lots of power

Just looking at my goals, and comparing them to what OEM vehicles of similar performance use to achieve them.

Plus, the setup I have now is definitely not enough; they're not bad- but the car definitely doesn't stop quickly- even with the redstuff pads, it still can't lock the tires up, and stopping over 100mph isn't all that great now either...

I've got the 12" brakes on my impala, and they honestly don't feel hardly any different than what I have on my monte. The 13" brakes like I have on my GXP probably would have been plenty with a good pad; but I figured it couldn't hurt to have more. Plus, it all goes back to the whole uniqueness thing, you know?

Wow man. I hope you get the chance to install them & paint your remaining body parts soon!

Yes, you make a good point. Just bustin your chops. Of course 14" brakes on a monte carlo will be unique and cool as hell. That thing will stop before you even think to press the brake pedal. lol.

He wont need any bigger than 17-18 to run them...
So now you can put yourself back in the seat, and into the steering wheel. Hope you have one hell of a harness setup.

Supposedly most 18"s clear (obviously as long as the offset is big enough that the spokes don't hit the side); that is what I was really looking for- I don't really want to run bigger than an 18" wheel. 19"s seem to be an oddball size anyways, and 20"s+ just look too big on the 5th gen monte body IMO.

Also, I like how nicely these fill out an 18" wheel- I hate seeing big wheels with little tiny brakes.

Here is a pic of the exact same setup on another car w/ 18"s:

I think those are OEM C6 wheels. Honestly, I want something different from OEM as far as wheels go; I've been thinking about these two:

http://www.ccwheel.com/files/wheelpr...y.php?id=SP500

http://www.ccwheel.com/files/wheelpr...lay.php?id=T10

I like the dish on them, they're pretty clean, plus they have plenty of options for wheel widths with either style (8.5" to 13" wide)- which will also let me meet my goal of a 300+ mm tire out back too.
