Ease of install on quick struts?
Ok so I pretty much need new struts ASAP, them being so expensive to get done at a shop I figured I'd do it myself. I plan on doing the front end then the rear, maybe on two separate weekends. Anyways I am looking at the Monroe quick strut assembly, which isn't anything special but it will get me by. They are like $160 each at autozone but on eBay the exact same ones are $70. I just wanna know of anyone has had experience with these, I have seen a video on YouTube it looks so easy. I wanna get them off eBay and would hate to get them and not like them or the ease of installing them be harder than I think cause I don't wanna deal with shipping back. All together I will cost me about $400. Not bad. I will need an alignment but I just had one and that has a 6 month warranty for any reason also what else should I do when I have everything apart? Thanks!

Got a link to the ones ur looking at? Struts are easy to do, 5 bolts and there out, just gotta unbolt the caliper and set it aside and remove the rotor, unbolt the bottom 2 bolts, youll need a hammer to get em out and than unbolt the top 3 bolts and its out

yeah it looks almost too easy.
here is the link Monroe 181661 Front Strut Coil Spring Assembly | eBay
I'll probably do the front first.

CompleteStruts.com.
$145 for the rear pair. $157 for the fronts.
I haven't done mine yet but I did the wifies Lexus. They are located in Florida and I am in Jersey. I got them in 4 days. The ride is outsdanding. Doing the complete assembly instead of just the cartrage is much less costly and less time consuming. 5 bolts and you've grestly inprroved your ride! B-)

Nice I will check that out. Mine have 160k on them so I'm sure you guys get the point lol. I knew the whole concept on how to change them but you know how working on cars goes, Especialy a 10 year old one. Always one roadblock. Anyways this should be a breeze.

Took me a few hours to remove/install all 4 in mine, and that's removing and replacing springs as well lol so a complete assembly swap should be cake like mike already mentioned, get a nice breaker bar

I'm replacing the springs and struts on my 06 SS this weekend. Got four new Monroe Sensa-Trac struts and all new hardware for $230 total (after $90 Monroe rebate). I will be installing new SSC lowering springs and Timken front wheel bearings as well.
Is a spring compressor required/recommended for this job or no?
