I had my front brakes replaced at the end of January. At the same time, I had my wheel bearings replaced as well. Fast forward to about 3 weeks ago when I noticed a grinding noise whenever I made a hard right turn. To make sure it wasn't my caliper, I hit the brakes last night and the car did not pull to the left side. The grinding was bad enough where the rotor has grooves in it. This does not happen when I make a hard left turn. There's no noise indicating it's the bearing.

What are the possibilities?

 

Wheel bearing wasn't replaced? Or possibly the pad cracked/broke, or even the possibility that a rock or some sort of debris got up between the caliper/pad/bracket area?

Also, I once bought a honda prelude, and after driving it a couple days, once was over 110mph, I was noticing a slight grinding noise coming from the front end... Jacked it up, and amazingly both of the caliper slide bolts were missing... Just gone. Yeah, that noise was the rotor grinding on the caliper...

I suggest going back to the place that did the job in January and have them inspect and check out their work. It could be a lose caliber or (?), if it's putting groves into your rotor.

Was it a good shop ? Do they stand by their work ? Good Luck!
