Default BMR Fabrication

I installed BMR's lateral and trailing arms on my '07. My stock tires are 235R50x18's and I replaced them with 245R45x18's. It appears that I am going to have a real clearance issue with the trailing arms because they are so much larger. Does anyone have any experience with this product and know of any remedies when it comes to clearance issues?

Well if you switched to wider tires and it wont clear, then it would be safe to say the remedy would be going back to the old tire size.

Matt: Thanks but I would rather keep the tires I got and figure out how to make the trailing arms work with these tires somehow. Somehow I got to move these trailing arms inboard but just haven't figured that out yet. Any ideas?

how close are you to hitting? i saw them on a car running 235s and its close. what about running a spacer the tire is only 10mm wider should be able to get away with it running a really thin wheel spacer.

A wheel spacer is your only solution if you don't want to run a smaller tire. Well, that is unless you want to get a different offset of wheels. A bit of an extreme solution, but a solution none the less.

I had a real close fit when I had my Giovanna Rio 18x8.5 wheels with 245/40/18 Nitto 555s on the car. I'm talking about the tires touching the trailing arms (same BMR arms) when off the ground but clearing when on. I think it was something like an 1/8 of an inch or less of clearance I had and I never had a rubbing issue.

I've got 245/45/18's on my 5th gen with the BMR stuff and I don't have a clearance issue with the car on the ground. I wouldn't bother trying to relocate the arm either, just do a wheel spacer as someone said above- it must be the offset of your rims being lower that has the wheels positioned further inboard than normal.

Thanks guys, my wheel offset is 52mm - these are the stock SS wheels. My clearance issues are when the car is in the air on a rack. I will have too see if this issue still exists when the car is on the ground. I thought the clearance would be the same up in the air or on the ground but from what I understand now they must be different. I will double check this as soon as the car is lowered and advise. I appreciate the help.
