Agree 100%

That's true, but 18's can be bent just the same, it all depends on the pothole and how fast you're going. But as far as ride comfort, I found the difference isn't as drastic as one might think. You definitely feel more of the bumps and stuff in the road due to the stiffer and shorter sidewall but it's not like going from a cadillac to a skateboard.

I make sure to watch for and avoid potholes no matter what wheels I have on my car, doesn't everyone?

I too maybe late summer getting new wheels. I am actually thinking about 19's because I don't want 20's. But the wheels that I want only come in 17 and 18 inch sizes. So it looks like I will upgrade from my current 17" summer wheels and make them my winter wheels and have the new 18" or if I'm lucky getting something in the 19" wheel range that gives me the look that I am after.

With my ugly stockers on in the winter, I really don't go out of my way to avoid potholes. If they are easy to see and avoid I'll do it, but if there are cars around me, etc I don't worry about it.

With my 18s I do worry some, I would think any smaller tire I would be paranoid while driving haha

It's not that bad....or maybe I just don't have to worry about it as much due to the roads in my care being nicely maintained.
