I'm not gonna tell you to go out and spend $$$ if you and your Nephew feel that your struts are good. What I will tell you though is that if you are riding on struts with 100k miles on them, if you replace all 4, you are going to be super impressed with the smoothness of your ride.
Just last w/e I completed my Suspension referb. I had replaced all my Struts about 18 months ago. But due to the condition of the roads here in north jersey and the fact that I had other suspension bad suspension components, one of the new struts blew. Front drives side! Which in turn caused me tires, got them a week after I did my struts, to go bald on the inside.
So now my whole suspension is new. And I am so impressed with the ride of My Minion, I may have to leave my wife and marry my car! Lol
I did the quick strut. Remove 5 bolts take the old strut out, put the new strut in, replace, and Torque to Spec's, the 5 bolts, and you will fall in love with your ride.

When you fully extend your struts, on a jack or lift, you basically let you struts Rest. When you get new struts they will be fully extended. Now that your car is bake on the ground the y well need to be active for about 10 miles of average driving before you can see the true ride height.

If you have ordered the spring you can always send it back and order the Quick Strut.
As I said, I can't tell you how to spend your $$$. Or what to buy for your car. But the quick strut will save you time and $$$. And the ride your Monte gives you Will impress you!!!!!

LOL JC is quite the salesman. I had actually considered sending back the springs and just ordering some quick struts.
I'll talk more with my nephew and see how he wants to proceed on this. To do just the springs I would actually have to borrow the spring compressor tool from another friend as my nephew doesn't have that tool so it would make it easier on all involved.

Oh yes, I know you give as much info as you can to help and I appreciate it for one. I am seriously, thinking about looking into the easy struts.
