Well, I have a dilemma. I LOVE the stock rims on my Monte, it just sets the car off...However, they are dirty from years of improper maintainence. Does anyone knowwhat touseto clean them? I am the second owner the car and I bought it with 135,000 so the rims are pretty bad. They are in great shape as far as corrosion because there is none, but they're SOO dirty.

do they look the same as my rims? i use a cleaner made by eagle one. i'll get the name of it tommorow it's in my trunk. it's safe for our wheels.
You just spray it on and leave it for 10 minutes then rinse it off with water. i use it before i go into the car wash then just rinse it off while i'm washing my car. Then all you gotta do is take a rag and get the brake dust in the corners.

Alright it's called eagle one Mag and tire cleaner, you can see how dirty my rim is at the bottom left

apply it heavily for best results. you can see the brake dust running off bottom left of the tire. avoid spraying your brakes as much as you can and make sure to rinse it really good or it will leave a residue.

and here's a few pics of the finished product

I really like how you keyed your rear panel to the same color as your car...was that hard to do? I've seen red MC's of our gen with the same thing and they look sweet. Also, how do you like those Cooper CS4's I saw on those nicely shined rims? lol. I was thinking about them, but believe it or not I could NOT find a Cooper dealer around my area, the closest was like an hour away.

i had a bodyshop at my old job do the rear panel. because of cracks in the plastic there is some imperfection but it was free so i can't complain.
I LOVE my coopers. they are wearing extremely well and are amazing in the snow and rain. my dad bought them before i had bought the car from him. it's also very hard to get them to squeal under hard cornering, but i've driven the car so much i kinda know where the breaking point is now. i've driven the car consistently at 140-150 km/hr on highways for several hours with no issues. i def. recommend them.

Yeah I hadn't heard too much about them and couldn't find any independent reviews on them over the internet so I didn't buy them this time around. Maybe next time. I am VERY impressed with my Kumho Solus KR-21's though. They have a nice profile, nice ride, NO road noise, and an 85,000 (about 136,724 km) warranty. So we'll see how they hold up since I've only had them for about 200 miles. [sm=smiley1.gif]
