20s or 22s???
i know i posted one similar to this a couple months ago... but now i really need some help... my birthday is on Friday and the only thing i want is new rims... i have 20s on my monte right now but i kinda want to go bigger with 22s. i see quite a few 2000 and up montes rolling around on 22s but they are all ss.. i dont know if 22s would fit on mine even if i get 30 series tires... just because i dont have the ss.... so should i just get a nice brand name 20s.. or would the 22s work... i just dont know!!! can some one give me their advice please. thanks a lot. what ever i get ill make sure i post some pictures of my monte too =]

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter whether its SS or not. It will be pretty much the same on all monte carlo's from 2000-2005.
I have 22's on my 03 SS, my rims are 22x8 and my tires are 245/30/22. What I had to do to get them on there was put 1 inch adapters on (to space them out a little from hitting the strut plate), used coil spring extenders on the back only to elevate it slightly (probably an inch) so the car sits above the rims some and I removed my inner wheel well from my front tires so I could have my full turning motion. I've seen some people leave there well in and just don't care about being able to make a real sharp turn.
The only time they rub is when I turn the wheel hard when backing up and when i hit dips on the interstate. You could also go with a lift kit to avoid the spacers and spring extenders and the rims will then sit completely under the car, as I have about a half inch of my tire outside of my car in the front. Not real noticeable but I might go with a lift in the future if it keeps getting to me.

No its not hard to do, just make sure you don't get the rubber ones, I heard they break easily.
Here's a link for the ones I have. Their in the third picture:
