Default 20's or 22's??

i have a 2006 monte carlo LT and ive been interested in getting some rims for it, i was interested in 22's but every place ive been is telling me not to do it because they wont fit until after making alot of adjustments, i could settle for 20's, but just wondering are their any 22's i can fit or no?? help

neither, its a rough ride. and if all the mods are not done, they will rub and rub bad. seen it alot working at firestone in tampa. besides, youll have real bad gas milage (inless you drive alot a highways) and slow acelleration. 20 and 22,s are just too big, its a car not an 18 wheeler! 17,s are best all around.

Personally I wouldn't go any larger than an 18" to keep your performance good and the looks good.

But you can get away with a 22" if you rubberband the rubbers.

If you MUST... Go with 20's. Personally wouldn't go bigger than 18.

The ride is rough but they "rub & rub bad" thing is not true. Go to a shop that does wheels & not oil changes, no disrespect to you J.

i have 20s on my monte carlo LS.
currently i have no problems with them.
they dont rub or effect my driving to the point were i would go lesser.
the only thing i can say is that the acceleration is a little different.
its slower just a tad bit...

but 22's will rub and they would be making your car "LOUD" which is to much for a monte carlo

not true not true not true take it from me I had 22's with a 255/30/22 on my mc and I had no issues I didn't rub it didn't make noise or was loud and I didn't have bad gas milage. If your going to do something do it but do it right and don't take short cuts like so many others that's why they have problems now.In chicago were riding 2's and up and we even got one on 28's and i've met the guy he drives it everywhere and says he has no problems. If you have the money and time do it right anything can be done.I just put my 300 on 4's and i'm thinking of going 8's everyone tells me they won't fit you won't be able to turn it going to rub.Well I don't do half *** work or cut corners so anything is possible.

i personally agree with Solow, as long as u put 22s on the right way and dont take short cuts you should be good. i just threw 255x30 on my ride and it rides smooth. only thing i had to do was get the struts in the back lifted ONLY DUE TO THE FACT THAT I NEED NEW STRUTS. my car has 140,000+ miles on it and i think u supposed to change struts every 80,000 miles. u just gotta keep up with ur wheel balance and tire rotations and anything else

I'm happy with my 20's and they actually ride pretty good, no rubbing or anything.
