I really would like to keep it focused for jrok1310's car, but how do you think those rims that I linked to in my previous response would look on a silver '02 monte?

I really like those rims and, IMO, that shiny chrome look would look awesome on a silver car.

Just a thought, would it be worth it to get the rims i wanted and them have them chromed over whatever is there?

Personally, here is my opinion on wheels from my experience:
- When I bought my Monte, I had the "salad shooter" style wheels (which I was not a fan of). I was ultimately after a '03 Pace Car (blue/silver year which had the High Sport package that included spoiler, wheels and ground fx), I settled for very close to that want (and no disappointments).
- I went looking for 16" diamond spoke wheels (they came on the Pace Car Montes and many others). They were never in the junk yards, local people selling wanted a lot (and normally damaged).
- Just as you posted I found sources for these BRAND NEW! Then I realized something, as awesome as those wheels were, they were still common wheels and I was going to pay a lot for factory style wheels, when instead I had a larger catalog of aftermarket wheels I could pick from and probably spend close to the same money and get something that stands out.

90% of the time, I prefer 10 spoke wheels (I love when the spokes are paired off and run in parallels with each other). Another member here showed off his Moda MD8's (I believe that was the brand and model) and I went to TireRack.com and order those I think that week!! BEST thing I did. I was nervous going from 16's to 18's, but having them now, zero regrets! Those wheels have since been discontinued.

Get an idea of what you like, then go from there.

Here are some that catch my eye from TireRack.com:

Some others I've considered are 10 spoke '06+ Impala wheels (Justin put his wife's 10 spoke Impala wheels on his Monte to see how it looked, awesome). There is also a '00-'05 5 spoke wheel I think would look good (a member IffyG had a set on his Monte I believe).

Wheels can be a lot of money, don't settle just to change it up, figure out what you really want and then go for it. I believe I had my Monte 2-3 years before another member found the wheels I wanted!!

Hope that helps and best of luck on your wheel search!

I have a white 02 ss and I have gunmetal rims on my car and I love the look of them. You always have the option of getting whichever rims you decide on powder coated, or plasti dip them to whatever color you like (cheap and easy to change if you don't like the color) the hardest part is finding the rims that match your cars personality, as every car looks different with the same set of rims, pending on what else is done to the car

I agree, but it's not just the car's personality, but also your personality.

For me, 90% of the time, I'm a sucker for stylish 10 spokes and my 2nd runner up are good 5 spokes. But not all 10 and 5 spoke rims work for me, I have just found it's what I favor.

Also getting new wheels is somewhat like a hood. Anyone can decal a car (they are cheap and easy). Hoods and wheels are typically a pricy investment and say something about your interest in the car you put them on.
