Chevrolet did a decent job on the exhaust `tone/sounds.
I think you need a programer to change the rev-limiter
on your 3.9L
The 2006 Monte Carlo is the only year that Chevy "GM"
offered theawesome 3.9 L -3900 in the Monte LT & LTZ-

The rev, limiter is programed into the computer. Most GM cars have them now. With no load on the engine the rev limiter kicks in. You can red line the engine while driving.
As far as the sound goes, he is correct that is the way the 3.9 sounds.
3.9L has a lot of power. One day someone will come out with some aftermarket items that will unlock more horses. I dont think that 242 hp is all this engine has to offer. I would even think that it will give the 04-05 MC with a SC a great battle.
The only thing that I dont like about my 06 LTZ is the front seats. Comfront wise they are the best seats out there.I dont have many people getting in the back since the kids are grown and have there own cars now. I wish GM could have done something different so that you dont have to readjust the seats everytime you move them forwardso someone can get inand out ofthe back.

yah, see with mine (05 monte) all you have to do is pull on the lever on the back of the seat, tip it forward, someone can get in, then tip it back and it goes back to the same spot...but if i have to slide the seat forward its a longer process because its power, so it take a little while..lol....should put a bigger motor on those..(tim taylor grunt here!! lol)

lol i know, i had my phone closed so i guess its as reverse image. Went out today and found a mustang gt that wanted to race, it was fun, they like to sit there and spin. lol and a new mercury cougar 5 spd those things are garbage. I talked to the kid afterwards and he thought my car was supercharged. lol oh well... whattya gonna do...[8D]
