Cool My "new" 2000 Monte Carlo SS

Hello!

I'm relatively new here, and I've already gotten some great help from this forum.

Just though I'd share a few photos of my car. Sorry for poor quality, I spent my money on a car instead of an iPhone. I got it nearly stock, so I've started to spice up the interior a bit. I'll see about more serious upgrades when I have more money. The pictures don't lie: The original paint quality looks nearly factory fresh.

I was blessed to find this deal on Craigslist for a price I could afford. It was hardly ever driven by its previous owner, and recently had new tires and a battery put in. I bought it completely with money I made as a kid delivering papers and mowing lawns. (My parents made me save it!) So far I've only had minor issues, and I was able to fix almost everything myself with some help from Dad.

Enjoy!

Wonderful choice.. Gives me a little faith I guess..

But yea, very nice.. Seats and steering wheel look good.. Almost looks like you have some sort of polish on there because the paint looks so clean..

Again, very nice..

Smile Good looking Monte Carlo!

Good looking Monte Carlo!
Well done on the seat covers too.
Kind of resembles the pace Car version.

Nothing wrong with the picture quality. Great looking car too (good choice over an iPhone).

It looks tip top. The seat covers are nice and tight. Watcha gonna do next? I'm thinking some nice wheels would set that off...

Thanks! I'm thinking about doing a muffler delete or performance muffler, and then maybe seat covers for the back row. Wheels are a great idea! I'll have to look into that.

You most likely won't like a full delete. Magnaflow sound good on the 3800 in my opinion.

Are you referring to just the mufflers, or the whole cat-back thing?

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm not familiar with the different kinds of mufflers. Do you just go by a certain pipe diameter when choosing, or is there more to it than that? What length/diameter? Performance or Glasspack in your opinion?

Sorry for all these questions, but I'd prefer to get this right the first time! I listened to Magnaflows in a video and I think I agree with you.
Thanks

Ask away.. Everyone on here loves to help and give their opinion..

Theres several different kind of mufflers that make very different tones/sounds.. It really doesnt matter if the muffler is labeled as performance as they dont create much restriction with our cars..

What hes saying is you will hate the sound of these cars without a muffler, you need something or itll sound like youre driving a loud tin can.. Magnaflow are pretty good as well as flowmaster, thrush, cherrybomb, even the generic brand from muffler shops can sound great.. Just gotta search and search until you find something you like the sound of..

I will say, the generic mufflers from the small shops can really surprise you with how good they sound..
