I'll say that I'm part of that group. Prices have come down on W cars in general enough that I've started seriously picking up a 4 door variant for a beater again. If they keep going down, we'll definitely pick one up in the near future.
Finally sold it for $5500. No spares. Took off the good rims and new Toyos and put the original black and silver rims, but they are a bit rough. Michelins are more worn. Gave him the car cover and bra. It was fun while it lasted.

Certainly took a while, but the car was in great condition, and as you may remember, paid $6000 just for paint. Tons of new parts. Only thing not replaced was the motor and tranny. We are both pretty happy. Like me, he wanted a car to go to shows in. Said he is never selling it. Glad to hear that.
