Default Silly Goats.

Could of been a closed track or maybe a 3 lane highway[8D]. Black 6 liter GTO attempted to go around me at a light. It wasone of those situations where I was stopped at the light and he caught the green and got the rolling start. Anyways,I hammered it and paced him for a bit which caught his attention. Rolling side by side at about 45-50 mph he floored it. I heard him gassing up so I put 'er in 3rd and put the hammer down myself. Put about5 bus lengths on him by 80ish. Next light we caught he rolled down the window and gave some props. He didnt beleive what just happend so heasked to try it again. Another roll race...3 honks at 40ish.. raped him again. Got the thumbs up and went on my way. Gosh, I wonder what I'd a done to him from a dead stop

well compared to your car not much of a challange if he was stock. those things only run low 14's high 13's out of the box.

I pulled a brand new g8 (same motor i believe)at the track last week by a few tenths, then the guy had me drive his car. His best time was 14.15, mine was 14.13 in HIS car first time out He didnt like that too much considering it took him half the day to get there.

i did that wtih a V6 mustang buddy at an 1/8th mile.

he tried 4 times.. no better than 11 flat, i ran a 10.7 first run out... he took credit for the run because he's a liar and nobody believes him anyway... everybody who was there that night (a bunch of my friends went) know who really cut that number.

Congrats to all of you. Nice kills. [sm=smiley20.gif]

I think a lot has to do with the driver though.

Back in the mid 90's, I lived neara high school that had a lot of guys driving daddy's mustang to school. I was driving my stock-looking 91 Z24 (cavalier) with the 3.1 litre engine. I had some slight engine mods, but nothing seriously mind blowing.

The stang drivers would see me coming and want to look cool in front of their buddies and/or girlfriend, and would try to cut me off and speed past me. Or they would just challenge me outright. Bad idea. I beat them everytime. Not because I had a super awesome car, but because they didn't know how to properly drive daddy's high powered car.

^^^^It hasso muchto do with the driver^^^
In high school I had a 79 Camaro Berlinetta (305) and my best friend had a 71 Mach 1 Mustang (351). I hada TH350 with a stage 1 shift kit, 600 cfmHolley 4BBL and some other minor stuff at this point (vacuum advance, upgraded ignition). We both had true dual exhaust coming off Dynomax headers and thrush mufflers. He had Holley 4BBL, Hurst shifter and i think that was it. I had the unfortunate option of 2.43 rear gearing (effin EPA, this was an "economy gear" option) We lined up and rolled the tires a bit and launched- he got much more wheelspin out of the gate and it was a dead heat... he should have spanked me. He let it rev too high before shifting and let the wheels spin too much or he would have won.

I have a video from the last track outing that I need to post...

I lined up against a BRAND NEW BMW M3! That car runshigh 12's all day long. The day we went to the track, it wasnt prepped and it was humid as hell. We staged and I caught the light, hooked quick and came out hard. I ran a 14.14 and he ran a 14.33. My mph was 98, his was 114

...I dont really consider that winning because if he had caught in at least second gear, i would have been toast....he just couldnt drive. Its a cool vid though, I will try to post it monday.

I had a chance in high school to buy a Z24 Beretta with a 5 speed...I had the cash buy my dad said "no, buying a manual transmission is a waste, get an automatic" I ended up with an '89 Buick LeSabre for 3k less...I'm kicking myself...lol. But now I have a sweet Monte and can hang out here with you guys, so it's all good. ;o)
