a good friend of mine has a 1996 Chevy S-10 reg. cab shortbox, 2wd, with an EFI 2.2l 4cyl, and a 5 speed manual trans. his truck has a speed limiter at 94 mph, and he thinks he can beat my car to 94mph, what do u think? i don't think he can

thast what i thought, i mean his truck is a little bit on the quick side considering he can go thru gears, and i have an auto, plus his truck is lighter. idk why he thinks he can beat me, but he is dead serious about it lol

LOL, A 2.2L, IT SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE BEEN PUT INTO AN S10. IT'S SLOW AS HELL. MY BUDDY HAD THAT IN HIS S10 AND HE WAS CHIPPED, FULL EXHAUST, AND INTAKE, AND THAT THING COULD BARLY BEAT ANYTHING IT COULDN'T EVEN BEAT A STOCK CAVILER. NOW IF YOU RACED MY OTHERBUDDIES SONOMA THAT WOULD BE A DIFFERENT STORY AS THE WAY IT SITS NOW. 4.3L, POSI, 3:42 GEARS, INTAKE, SHIFT KIT, HEADERS, FULL EXHAUST.

He might have a sleeper in there. You can put an engine in a pick-up truck in an afternoon. Run 'em. You ought to be able to hear any Mods he's got while you a re staging.
He's probably win the hole-shot with the Clutch if he doesn't burn-out for no weight on the rear wheels. But, you showld have time to brew tea at the finish before he get there if he's running stock.

its a 2.2? no way, sorry, the 4.3 wouldn't even keep up...i dont think so anyway
like when i had my 3.8 ss there was no way the s10's could touch it, i think he's dreaming, just very proud of his truck

haha, my one of my buds in high school had a 5 speed 2.2L s10 all lowered and crap... I raced him in my bone stock 250ci straight 6 '76 Nova... I beat him by a half car up to 75mph, and that's really saying something. I thought my Nova was the slowest car ever made. If I had to estimate I'd say mid 18's in the 1/4... lol
