Default Monte Carlo Showdown: Gen1 vs. Gen6

So I got out to the track again Friday to settle another "grudge match", and it was a good one for Monte Carlo fans.
I have a bud who finished putting together a '70 Monte Carlo this summer. He dropped a 350 crate engine of some kind in it. Its supposed to be 300HP and he sank some more money into it. Its a good looking car but he hadn't had it to the track. When he heard about my mid 14's (a few weeks ago) he took a few jabs at the BudChev - saying it wasn't a real Monte Carlo.
Anyways we only squared up for one run and it went like this (I was 1423 and he was 1425):

Its kinda confusing to read this one, but I won (and did my personal best in the same run). If you look he actually had the slightly quicker 1/4 and I won by having the better reaction time. Its a win I'll take and one he won't live down anytime soon.
I know he put his car into storage today (winter is well on it way here in Canada now) so there won't be a rematch this year. It was likely the last time I'll make it out to the track this year myself, but I had a good night

Sorry... no pics...

Wow. You both had horrible 60' times, lol. If only you had some traction you would have nailed him. Congrats though on the win. It looks like both of the "Monte Carlos" are pretty much evenly matched.

The is very true. I don't think my tires even grabbed for the first 60'! I watched a few others this time and I can honestly say I didn't see another car making as poor traction as me. They are slightly undersized which probably gives me too much unmanageable torque and hurts the top end too. But they look cool.

I'll get a hold of some slicks next year.
