I would have never thought it... did you get to talk to the driver? He could have some pretty heavy mods in that car!

 

i dont think its all that shocking for a turbo beetle if thats what it was to beat an almost stock 3.4 monte. and on the whole gm not selling performance or aftermarket stuff isnt really true. the cobalt had a ton of things that could be purchased through the dealer and be dealer installed and what not.

True, most Cobalts you see on the road probably have the Stage 2 upgrade from GM. Besides those, most of them just do cosmetic mods.

 

nope didnt(wouldnt have) talk to him(couldnt even bring myself to make eye contact with him at the next stop light) but the thing sounded MEAN! and it was absolutly SLAMMED to the ground im talkin less than 2", and popping out sparks from the tail pipe when it shifted. and hey monte 07 it had those eyelid headlights LOL.
this guy looked rugged, what the hell was he doing driving a beetle?? he looked like he should have been driving a semi.

what kind of engine does a turbo bettle have.

i raced a lowered, 1.8 turboed jetta and **** on it. i had a better jump, turbo lags a ***** f****. plus i think the guy was scarrd to hit a pothole.

P.S. it sounded cute when it spooled up though. i almost wanted to laugh.

its wierd that my cousins 2.0 civic si is faster then a 1.8 with a turbo. they probly dont run much boost from the factory though.

 

no wait when i said i couldnt make eye contact (i dont know what i was thinking) i meant there was a guy behind me when i raced that stupid thing, the beetle got by the stop light and i got stuck. the guy behind me pulled up next to me at teh stop light.
