I Got Owned....
Well some friends and I ran down to the 1/8 mile drag strip in Roxboro, NC. For $10 to get in and $5 to race, I got to time my car. I was a little disappointed... Here is my best time (I beat a hot rod because it stalled).

I guess I was expecting a bit much out of my VSux engine. I was hoping to atleast break into the 9's. O'well. Even if I did a couple thousand dollars worht of work it would still be about hte slowest thing there. A friend of mine has a 96 Cobra Mustang, only ran an 8.9. If it wasn't for me and this Duster 340, he would have been the slowest thing there.

For a VERY good estimate of your quarter mile time, just multiply your eighth mile time by 1.553. For an estimate 'range', try 1.54 (weaker launching cars) to 1.57 (perfect launching cars). You'll be dead on the money with this formula.

actually, a 10.5 second 1/8 mile would mean that you are running right around there. Not to mention that I have the 3800 with the blower and I'm barely getting under a 15 second quarter mile bone stock.
Also, read this article, I'm not sure what year you have, but this is for an 04, Supercharged, and if you read, it states:
At the track, the Monte’s newfound power and chassis enhancements were evident. We ripped off 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and the quarter-mile in 15.1 at 93 mph, 2.1 and 1.5 seconds quicker, respectively, than the numbers put up by a standard SS

well i guess that means everything is fine... expecting too much out of my poor little V6 i guess. times like this makes me wish i had bought that trans am i looked at a couple months before getting the monte (I looked for a LONG time before finding the right one). but if i had bought htat, i would be having the problems a frined of mine is having with a cobra and another with a Z28. the z28 after 110,000 miles has a BAD oil leak, and the cobra has transmission issues. i would have never found a cobra, z28, or trans am that had not had the living **** run out of it. atleast a monte might have plenty of life left in it. not only that, but if it wasn't for me and a duster 340 that was in the process of being restored, thatcobra 'stang would have been the slowest car at the track. even if i had bought the extra power and the speedy car, not only would i still have fairly slow times at teh track, btu i would probably be having nothing but problems.
