the rims are too heavy plus with the skinny low profile he have will not hook that well.

 

Its more rotating mass on bigger wheels. They take more power to get moving, and are harder to stop once they are rolling. He doesnt spin it more or less bogs if he stomps it. His car is a V8 HEMI CHARGER but NOT an R/T charger which has a bit more hp. His brother my other cousin has an rt charger but doesnt dog it so ill pick on the lil guy first.

 

I do not believe that Dodge has ever made a HEMI V8 Charger that was not an R/T. You get the HEMI when you opt for the R/T Package. Unless you get the Police package. Could you specify some more. Like what year this car is.

I think if it were not for the dumb wheels on the Charger he would be able to take you easily, those might make up enough difference for the race to be close.

ok, i think i know a little on this topic having a hemi r/t now and had a 3.8l supercharged

if its a v8 its going to be a hemi, thats the only option, probably going to be the 5.7l which is what i have, and the srt's came with the 6.1 but thats rare

here's the different engines all of those cars came with

2.7l v6
3.5l v6
5.7l v8 hemi (350hp stock)
6.1l v8 hemi (425hp stock)



i haven't driven the 2.7l so i have no idea what they're like

BUT the 3.5l is about the same speed as the 3.8l supercharged monte's (maybe a little slower but not much)


now i had a 3.8l supercharged with the exhaust modded and the pulley was 1 size smaller, and the cold air intake on there (so i was done up a bit) but its no comparison to the hemi, i would say the hemi is twice as fast as the 3.8l

in a 1/4 mile race there'd be at LEAST a 10-12 car difference @ the finish line, probbaly more

i raced my buddies gtp grand prix with all the same mods i had done to my monte carlo and i only got up to about 80-90 mph and i had a huge distance between us




as for it not being a r/t or not, i'm not sure

in the case of the magnum's all v8's are r/t's the v6's are slt's or something like that
not sure what they do with the charger, but if he's gota v8 it wont even be close


my magnum is about 400-410 hp right now

 

Ok i found some info. 5.7L is a hemi rt. 6.1L is an srt. Stock 5.7 chargers go low 14's and stock 6.1 srt are around low 13's. With that said, i think he will loose close to .7-1.0 secs. Going from a stock 17" wheel on my cobra with drag radials to 16" and skinnies in the front knocks off about .5. The stock 17x9 with a tire weight close to 50lbs each. Those 24's are way heavier, so if he does pull me its not going to be by much. And if he does wax me that much ill have to go get the ford.j/j guys Either way im going to run him to see how i do before i start modding and im also going to make a few stock passes at the track sometime soon.

 

when i went to 22's on my magnum it did not slow it down @ all, all it did was reduce the ability to spin the tires standing still as easily, but the car still accelerated just as fast

thats for a 2007 rt . but for 30k coulda got a gto lol. but anyways mid 14s arent that hard to get out of a m90.have a buddy with a 02gtp all it has is a cai and headers 14.4 and its not tunned.so stock for stock it wouldnt hand you your *** but it would definatly beat you but spend 500 bucks and your right thier with him
