Exactly what the topic says, i saw a thread about it, but only listed the memebrs numbers. Anyone know what an average 1/4 time for an 87 monte is?

How difficult is it to get it down into the 11-12 range?

From what I understand a stock 87 SS should run in the 16's. Also from what I understand, 400hp at the wheels should bring it into the 12's. So if you are going to put a new crate engine in it, it shouldnt be hard at all.

But I may be misinformed, if so i'm sure someone will point it out.

400hp should get a car into the 12s, provided that it can get traction, and is the proper weight..

to give you an idea...i have about 350whp...my weighs about 3700lbs, and it runs 12.60s...

don't jump to conclusions so quick. world performance makes custom engines, very high dollar. i know for a fact they make a 454 small block, but haven't heard about their 502 small block, but it's possible i guess.

if you're wanting to go big block go with a BIG block......a 572 [sm=drooldude.gif][sm=hail.gif]

you could do that, but wouldnt it be more expensive and difficult to use a LS7? i think its no larger than a gen 1 small block... maybe smaller.
