Default Finally a WIN!

Even with all the motor trouble and bad luck me, Cory Schollman, went all the way on Friday August 17. With it being the last race of the season at Gateway International Raceway and me not having a win it didn't look good. But after the two quallifying passes my car ran 7.921 and a 7.918, it was looking better. In Bracket racing it's all about running the same everytime. Also you want to make sure you cross the finish line WITHOUT running to fast. With that in mind here are the times:

Round 1
Dial 7.91
R/T .003
60' 1.696
330'4.963
660' 8.006
MPH 76.04
Lifting at the end major becuase I was ahead by .0346 of a second.

Round 2
Dial 7.90
R/T .152
60' 1.696
330'4.974
660'8.056
MPH 69.67
Lifting at the end again even using brakes becuase my reaction was .152 to his .395

Round 3 Bye Run!
Dial 7.90
R/T .068
60'1.692
330' 4.955
660' 7.905
MPH 81.71
Ran full out becuase I was chosen for the bye run.

Round 4
Dial 7.90
R/T.055
60' 1.682
330' 4.944
660' 7.922
MPH 76.20
Lifting major again due to me having a better R/T (Reaction time) and being ahead by .0298 seconds at the finish. About a half of car lenght.

Round5 FINAL ROUND!!
Dial 7.90
R/T .128
60' 1.735
330' 5.021
660' 7.984
MPH 80.02
Lifted off the gas at the end due to winning by .0391 (about 3/4 of a car lenght)

Was one the of best nights of my life in a while. Of course winning helps!! Check out the winning photo at http://www.racingperspectives.com/cg...-08-17_071.jpg

Thanks

'Cory

Hi Cory, I don't know why more member's haven't
posted a congratulations for your win. : )
It's dis-appointing : (
I guess they are to busy, or they never have been in
competition, and know how difficult it is to get a win.
Or maybe they are jealous, that they are not you.
(I know that the Beach Bum's & I are : )
I'm posting to keep this an active post, incase member's
might have missed it.
Members, `if your reading this, take a second from your
busy life, & post your comments.
Cory, we wish you continual wins in Racing, and in life.
The Beach Bum's & I are happy for you.....
Wanta `Race ?

The Gateway Jr. Drags Racing Season concluded with great racing and the crowning of three new Gateway Track Champions.
Tommy Heaney Jr. won the Gateway Jr. Dragster Track Championship in Gateway’s 8-9 year old class in his first year of competition. Heaney’s championship year included 2 wins in 4 final round appearances. Heaney entered the last race of the season with a healthy points lead, and clinched the championship when 2007 NHRA Eastern Conference Jr. Dragster Champion “Lil Sassy” Morgan Keyser was defeated in the second round of competition. Keyser finished second in points followed by eventual event winner Drew Earley. Blake Bloemker, three-time finalist and event runner up finished fourth in points.
Austin Vaughn needed many cards to play in his favor in order to win his first track championship. Vaughn needed Kelsey Beimfohr, who lead the points most of the season, and Jeff Campete, both event winners in 2007 to be defeated in the early rounds of the season finale. And finally Vaughn had to win. Well the cards started to fall for Vaughn as Kelsey Beimfohr was defeated in the first round, and Jeff Campete was eliminated in the second. That led to a match up in the final round between Austin Vaughn, and two-time Gateway Track Champion Jacob Blumenstein. Blumenstein also needed Beimfohr and Campete to have early exits to the event. So the final round matchup ended up being for the 2007 Gateway Track Championship. Vaughn emerged victorious in the matchup and claimed his first Gateway Track Championship. 2005 NHRA Division 3 Champion Kelsey Beimfohr finished second, with Blumenstein and Campete rounding out the top 4.
Kegan Hagedorn rounded out his year to remember with his first Gateway Jr. Dragster Track Championship. Hagedorn’s year included one win and three semi-final appearances in Gateway’s ultra competitive 13 and up class. Hagedorn clinched his first championship with a quarter final appearance in the season finale. Cory Schollman was the event winner and jumped to sixth in Gateway Points. Event Runner up Brittney Pour moved up to second in the year end standings followed by 2006 NHRA Division 3 Champion Austin Suhre and Carly “the bug” Bryant.
Gateway would like to congratulate Tommy Heaney Jr., Austin Vaughn, and Kegan Hagedorn for their first Gateway Track Championships, and also thank all the racers, families, and supporters of the 2007 Gateway Jr. Drag Racing Program.

That earns me a 6th over all out of 30. I'll take it!!
