Default Betrayal.....

Well my Monte Carlo friends, I have betrayed you all. Friday night I went over to the 1/8th mile in the next county. I didn't take the Monte, but instead rode with my best friend in his 1996 Mustang Cobra. So we ride over there and he runs a 8.7, and another friend with a 2002 Mustang V6 coupe was also running. This friend isn't that good of a race car driver, and all he could get out of his car was 11.012, and his reaction wasn't that good. I actually talked him into letting me drive it. We removed a headlight to allow more air to get into the engine and took the spare tire and jack out. The only other thing htat was changed was the driver, he was swapped out for me I took the car out on the track and got a 10.726 out of the car....

Then later that night, I was riding with my Cobra Mustang friend. We got back to our high school about 3.5 miles from my house and he said "you've got to drive it man, you've got to drive it." So I got behind the wheel... and I'll tell you.. those things don't feel that fast when you're driving them. My friend had never ridden in the passenger side of it and said he had no idea how fast it really felt in the passenger side. Quite a car, I must admit that. A very fun night indeed.

That thing rolled... we got it out on Highway 15 and as I just got it straight he said "drive it like you mean it".... he didn't have to ask twice. I nailed the throttle and got it to about 5,000 rpm, put it in second, pulled most of the way to about 5,000 rpm, then put it to 5th and gave it a little gas and we were at 60. all of this took about 6-6.5 seconds. i didn't wind it all the way out. this 'stang had 4.30 rear ends and a mac muffler system. by far, it was the fastest car i ever drove.

he just knows how to put the throttle to the floor, that breaks the tires free. i got into it just enough to go fast but not break his tires free.
