Default Beat 305 really surprised me!!!!

In the 85 SS I have a beat 305 and a 200r4 trans, I have a pypes exhaust with hooker headers. Took the car to the track a whole bunch trying different things each time. Worst time was a 15.01 and best time was a 14.71. Started with a holley carb and a stock intake, that gave me the 15.01, then went with a colder t-stat, edelbrock intake, electric fan, changed distributor to a vacuum advanced and got rid of all the electric crap and I mixed 110 race fuel with Sunoco 93 and that gave me the 14.71. I was really impressed this 305, it has 171k on it. Oh yeah I also took of the stock rims and went with AR aluminum rims. Cant wait to get the 350 built and in and Ill update. Wont be in for this season but next.
Have a great day!!!

To post a pic, all you have to do is . Although, you might not be allowed to with only five posts so far.

As far as your Monte, congrats. Those are very respectable time for a 305.

Great job you went into the kill mode, did some good reasonable mods and got the car down the track with a better time. Well done!! For sure let us know how the 350 situation develops.

The fastest in the 1/4 mile, I dont really remember exactly, but it was right around 95-100 was the fastest, I have had it up above 100 on the highway but that is a bit scary in this big of a car. I am holding up on the 350 right now, because I had someone give me a B&M 144 supercharger. I am going to bolt that up on the 305 and see how I like the charger. I am holding up on the 350 because it will be a totally different build if I use the charger or not. I will definitely keep you all updated on this build.
